WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Most complex initiatives don't fail for lack of ideas. They stall when alignment breaks down across organisations, priorities and delivery teams.

HOW I WORK

A clear path through complexity.

The work I'm brought into usually sits across organisations, systems and communities. Often there's a real opportunity, new funding, a policy focus or leadership ambition, but not a clear path to move it forward.

Every engagement starts by mapping the real system, the politics, the people and the constraints, before designing anything. Solutions are built with the people who use them, tested fast, and scaled on evidence.

AI AS AN ACCELERATOR

I use AI as a force multiplier for sharper strategy and faster prototyping. AI operates as the production layer, compressing synthesis, mapping and prototyping from weeks into days without sacrificing rigour. Fees reflect judgment and outcomes, not headcount.

1

Understand the System

Insight and evidence. Map the landscape before you move.

2

Co-Design the Future

Shared vision. Built with people, not for them.

3

Prioritise & Plan

Roadmap and initiatives. Focus resources where they matter.

4

Deliver What Works

Test, learn, grow. Scale what works, drop what doesn't.

Selected Work

  • Paralympics Australia - Brisbane 2032

Built the organisation-wide strategy for the road to Brisbane 2032: national roundtables, board alignment, commercial models and a delivery roadmap, designed with Paralympians, coaches, partners and the executive.

    $283M in federal investment secured

  • NSW Department of Education - Digital Strategy

Led a multidisciplinary team to design the digital strategy for NSW public education, interrogating competing platform architectures to build a direction the whole system could stand behind.

1M+ users across four platforms, aligned under a single strategy

  • NSW Government (DPHI) - NSW Planning Portal

Brought together 232 councils, policy and delivery teams to create a unified approach to the planning portal, turning resistant stakeholders into a shared process that prioritised real user needs. Ran the co-design across six workshops, working through the competing demands of state and local government. Then set the roadmap, priorities and sequencing the whole group could stand behind.

  • NSW Office of Sport - Sport Plus

Two pieces of work for the NSW Office of Sport. Run My Way, where the lived experience of women in sport reframed the problem around safety and access. And the Aboriginal Outcomes Team, where the system needed stewardship, not more programs, so I designed the vision, strategy and plan of work to help them lead the industry. Both made sport count for more than how many people turn up.

  • Systems Design - NSW Gov Regulator

Working with a NSW regulator running Salesforce, I mapped how work and experience flowed: the real process, the pain points, and the workarounds. By prioritising pain points, we built out clear recommendations for the future investment across tech, people and process.

↗ 5 key findings, 12 recommendations, and an exec-endorsed prioritisation and roadmap.

  • HBF - East Coast Expansion

Aligned specialist functions that usually run in silos, to deliver an integrated brand, performance, media, and experience launch for a WA health insurer entering the saturated East Coast market. Included the award-winning Quokkas campaign.

01

The Read

Where are we, really?

A structured diagnostic of your system in three weeks. Interviews across executive and front line, then a written diagnostic: named themes carried by verbatim evidence, a pain-point heatmap, and a recommended next move, sized and sequenced.

Best where the case for change needs proof before funding.
02

The Map

What is actually going on?

The full picture of how the work actually happens. Experience blueprints, process maps with the workarounds included, and a diagnosis built to hold at the executive table, and in a business case. Each problem paired with a sized, sequenced fix.

Best where decisions are queued and teams disagree on the underlying problem.
03

The Shift

What is our shared future, and how do we get there?

Future-state design, built through structured co-design. I bring executive and front line into the same room, with AI-assisted prototypes making the future tangible within days. You leave with a strategy on a page, design principles, a roadmap with owners, and a 120-day plan to first delivery.

Best where direction exists but alignment does not.
04

The Long Game

Make it hold.

From first diagnostic to handover, one senior partner across the whole arc. Everything in The Map and The Shift, then a target operating model, capability built in your team, and benefits tracked against the case. The engagement ends when the change holds. I take two of these a year.

Best where the mandate is funded and continuity matters.

HOW I HELP

Four ways in. One path through.

Every engagement walks the same arc: understand the system, design the future, deliver what works. The four offers are entry points onto it. Each stands alone, and each builds toward the next.

ABOUT THE NAME

Not a shot. A shift.

In hockey, the upright reverse is a strike taken from the reverse side of the stick, upright, composed and controlled. Most players drop low. This shot stays tall, redirecting force with precision instead of power.

It’s about reading the game differently. Using intelligent redirection, reading the system, staying calm under pressure, and finding the angle others miss.

That's the philosophy behind the consultancy. It's a strategy that moves through people with thoughtful courage and surprising agility.
